Model Jailed for Fake Whiplash Claim

A model and semi-professional footballer has been jailed after she fraudulently made a claim for whiplash and took advantage of the personal injury system.
The case highlights the importance of providing evidence to any judicial process and taking the advice of solicitors.
False Whiplash Claim
The female took out a claim against Esure following a road traffic accident in 2012, but she failed to seek medical advice or obtain an appointment with a medical professional to check her injuries. As a result the defendant was able to have her claim dismissed.
High Court investigators were then encouraged to investigate the claim and found that the driver had been in a numerous of fitness challenges and had sky dived since her incident showing that her claim was fraudulent. She has since been sentenced for two months in prison.
Making a Whiplash Claim
Although the whiplash claim was falsified, the issue highlights the importance of having evidence for a claim.
